The Camino de Santiago is much more than a trail — it's an experience you feel in your soul. For over a thousand years, pilgrims from all over the world have walked its paths in search of something special: inspiration, inner peace, or simply the magic of moving forward one step at a time.
Amid endless landscapes, towns steeped in history, and unexpected encounters, every stretch of trail becomes a small adventure that turns the journey into something deeply personal — until you reach the city of Santiago de Compostela, where every pilgrim discovers that the true destination was always within.
Our adventure begins in the city of Madrid, where we'll have time to rest and start feeling the excitement of the journey ahead. On this first night, we can stroll through its lively streets and get mentally ready for the unique experience of the Camino de Santiago that awaits us. Overnight in a 3*-4* hotel, twin room.
In the morning we'll take the train to Sarria, the most popular starting point for walking the final 100 km of the Camino and earning the Compostela — this route is known as the Camino Francés. Once we arrive, we'll check in at our lodging and receive our pilgrim kit, a small symbol of the great journey about to begin. We'll have time to explore the charming town and enjoy Galician cuisine.
Today we officially start walking. The trails will lead us through forests, rural hamlets, and historic paths as we take our first steps as pilgrims. This first stage ends in Portomarín, a picturesque town on the banks of the Miño River known for its fortress-church and welcoming atmosphere. Moderate difficulty, 22.2 km.
The route continues through green landscapes, small towns, and quiet rural trails that reflect the essence of the Camino. Every step connects us more deeply with nature and with the pilgrim spirit that has guided travelers for centuries. We'll arrive in Palas de Rei, a historic town in the heart of Galicia. Moderate difficulty, 24.8 km.
This stage takes us along rural paths and Galician forests until we reach Melide, famous as the place where many pilgrims try traditional pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus). It's a shorter day that lets us enjoy the surroundings and the delicious local cuisine. Easy-moderate difficulty, 14.4 km.
We'll continue through peaceful landscapes, small hamlets, and trails surrounded by nature. The Camino will lead us to Arzúa, a town known for its cheesemaking tradition and the warm hospitality it shows pilgrims. Easy-moderate difficulty, 14.1 km.
Each day the final destination feels closer. Today we'll walk through eucalyptus forests and gentle hills until we reach O Pino, a quiet town where we can rest and reflect on everything we've experienced along the way. Moderate difficulty, 17.7 km.
Welcome to the final stage, one of the most exciting. After several days of walking, we'll finally enter Santiago de Compostela, where thousands of pilgrims complete their journey every year. Arriving at the majestic Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is an unforgettable moment full of emotion, pride, and celebration. Moderate difficulty, 22 km.
Today we can take our time enjoying the magic of Santiago de Compostela. We'll wander through its historic old town, visit its lively squares, discover its culture, and celebrate the unique experience of having completed the Camino.
After days full of adventure, unforgettable landscapes, and moments of introspection, it's time to head home. Though the trip ends, the experience of the Camino de Santiago stays with you forever.
Camino de Santiago is brand new in our catalog — it doesn’t have reviews yet, but we’re already putting together the first group to experience it. The first stories — and the first stars — will come from there.
Be between 25 and 45 years old, with valid travel documentation (a passport valid for at least 6 months from your entry date into the country). We'll guide you if you need to arrange a visa.
Given the nature of our adventures — constant transfers, packing and unpacking every day — we ask you to travel light: a small backpack or personal item, plus a 10–12 kg carry-on. If you prefer to bring a larger suitcase, any extra storage or transport cost is on you.
Message us on WhatsApp using the "Reserve your spot" button and we'll walk you through the form and deposit. As soon as your spot is confirmed, we'll send you the next steps.
You reserve your spot with $100 USD, which counts toward the final package price. The remainder is split into up to 6 payments on fixed dates, and must be paid off no later than one month before the trip. Cash payments are not accepted.
You book your own flights, but you'll get guidance from your experience coordinator once you've reserved your spot, including the recommended arrival airport. If you decide to fly in before or after the group dates, any extra costs are on you.
An experience coordinator follows up with you remotely before the trip (flights, visas, prep). A W&W ambassador travels with you in person and leads the group, and expert local guides join you on tours. The rest of the group is other travelers on the same date.
Our packages are built around well-located 3- or 4-star hotels, in twin rooms (2 beds) shared with another group member. Some packages include different nights, like camping or igloos, noted in the itinerary.
Wild & Wonder is part of Travelers With Cause, a responsible tourism company registered since January 2018, with registration before Mexico's Secretariat of Tourism. We don't travel to countries with political or social instability. Travel insurance is mandatory, and we can help you find one that fits your needs.
